Who writes The Spoonist
The Spoonist is researched and edited from a small home kitchen by people who cook in it — a household operation, not a media company. The site exists for one reason: appliance buying guides are full of copied marketing copy and invented “test results.” We take the opposite position — we tell you exactly what we verified, what we didn’t, and what to check yourself before ordering.
Our research method
- Live listing verification. Every product recommended here is checked against its live Amazon listing before publication: current price, listing rating, model number, and availability. If we can’t verify a listing, it doesn’t make the guide.
- Manufacturer documentation. Specifications, features, and compatibility claims come from manufacturer documentation and spec sheets, not guesswork. Where a spec matters but isn’t published, we say “check the listing” instead of guessing.
- Original comparison data. We compile our own comparison tables from those verified sources so you can see trade-offs side by side.
- Honest ratings. We report listing ratings as they are — including when they’re mediocre — and tell you to read the recent negative reviews, because that’s where long-term failure patterns show up.
How AI is used on this site
We use AI writing tools to help draft and structure guides. Every guide is then human-edited, fact-checked against verified product data, and reviewed for accuracy before publication. We do not use AI to fabricate test results, invent experiences we don’t have, or mass-produce content. Our rule follows Google’s own guidance: content is judged by its quality and honesty however it was produced — and claims we can’t verify are never stated as fact.

Corrections
Found an error? A price that changed, a spec that’s wrong, a listing that died? That matters to us — accuracy is the entire value proposition of this site. Reach us through the site’s contact options and we’ll verify and correct.
